In terms of sports and adventures 2014 year hold many record. Germany football world champion. England once again dominated the Commonwealth Games. Asian Games China scored again. Talking about Sri Lanka Cricket T20 World champion. While Rohit Sharma hit a double century in the second one-day cricket. BCCI has been surrounded in controversy the year spot-fixing and betting. N Srinivasan, the BCCI president, he then became chairman of the ICC had to quit. Let us take a look at the headlines in the world of sports:



1 Rohit Sharma


          Hitting Kolkata ODI double century against Sri Lanka made history. Day in history is the only batsman to perform it twice. Earlier 209 against Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore was smashed. 173 balls, 33 fours and nine sixes in Rohit Sharma 264 runs to help. 2 World T20 champions won by Sri Lanka

3 Indian Premier League (IPL) :-
                                    Knight Riders team defeat the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) won the seventh edition. Knight Riders won the title in 2012.



4  17th Asian Games

                           South Korean city of the 17th Asian Games was held in Incon. In these games, India 15 gold, 30 silver medals and 19 Brong won 64 medals overall. India is 5th in the medal table.

7  Wimbledon 2014

             Top seed Novak Djokovic  beat Roger Federer in Wimbledon tennis tournament . The marathon match that lasted nearly four hours Djokovic 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 victory.

           On July 5, 2014 Petra Kvitova of Czech Open 2014 Wimbledon women's singles title.  Petra beat Canada's Genie Bokard Petra 6-3, 6-0 victory won his second Wimbledon title. Petra Kvitova beat Sharapova in the 2011 won his first Wimbledon title.

8  Australian Open 2014

                               Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland beat Rafael Nadal of Spain 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to win the Australian Open 2014 men's singles title. Eighth-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka career is the first Grand Slam title.

    Li Na of China in the Australian Open women's singles beat Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in straight sets by beating captured second career grand slam. Li Na in the title match Cibulkova 7-6 (7-3), 6-0


9  US Open 2014


    Serena Williams won the women's singles title by defeating Denmark's 10th seed Caroline Vojniaki third consecutive US Open singles title.

10  French Open

 
   Rafael Nadal beat Novak Djokovic in the final of the French Open in 2014 and the title.  3-6 7-5 6-2 6-4 .

   Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova beat Simona Halep of Romania beat the second career title in the French Open. The Russian Bala 6- 4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4 victory.


11  Asia Cup cricket

 
                          Sri Lanka beat Pakistan won the Asia Cup cricket tournament. Bangladesh in Mirpur, Pakistan scored 261 for victory against Sri Lanka which he had placed on the loss of five wickets in 47 overs achieved.


12    Saina Nehwal

           China Open Super Series

                                 Saina Nehwal of India beat Yamas Gucci 21-12 in the final,                               22-20 to win the Chinese Open Premier title .

          Australian Open Series

                                      Saina Nehwal won the title of the Australian Open Series beat Carolina of Spain to 21-18, 21- 11

13  ICC Cricketer of year player

                               
                                       Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and ICC Cricketer of the Year at the ICC Test Player of the Year award. People's Choice Award Kumar of India Bhubaneswar. AB de Villiers was named the year's best one-day player. Women got the honor of England's Sarah Taylor. England Gary Balns became Emerging Player of the Year.


14   ICC Banned to Pak Player


                             Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal's bowling was banned in internationalcricket.Investigation by the ICC said in a statement that all the balls around his elbow was fixed over the standard 15 degrees.
